Two Owensboro residents arrested for residential burglary

Two Owensboro residents are behind bars after they allegedly burglarized a home in Daviess County.

According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Kentucky State Police responded to a burglary in progress around 2:40 p.m. Thursday at a home in the 11-thousand block of Redhill-Maxwell Road where a caller advised he observed a male and female go into the residence and then noticed the female exit the home with some type of electronics in her arms. When she noticed the caller, she reportedly put the items on the ground and ran back into the residence. The male and female then exited the home where the male, later identified as 33 year old Andrew Wheatley, confronted the caller and informed him he was friends with the resident and he had worked with him in the past. After the two realized the caller had called police, authorities say they fled the scene in a vehicle.

The sheriff’s office says deputies spotted the vehicle coming into Owensboro and made a traffic stop at which time they found suspected methamphetamine inside. In addition, they state Wheatley had a pistol on his side that was later determined to be stolen from the residence the two had burglarized.

Authorities say the female, 31 year old Crystal Dennis, had a warrant for her arrest issued by the courts for Drug Court violations.

Both subjects were lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center for first degree burglary and other offenses.
