A local woman was flown to an Evansville hospital Monday after a single-vehicle wreck on KY 266 in Henderson County.

According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and emergency personnel responded to the scene of the wreck on KY 266 just off of KY 136 West around 9:40 a.m. Monday where an investigation revealed 32 year old Dallas Lanham of Smith Mills was driving a SUV east when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer in the road. Lanham’s vehicle exited the roadway, traveled up an embankment and hit a tree, causing the SUV to overturn onto the road.

Authorities report Lanham was transported by ambulance to Methodist Hospital in Henderson County for treatment and his wife, 36 year old Lena Lanham of Smith Mills, was airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, IN. for treatment of injuries.
