Three tri-county residents appointed by Gov. Beshear to state boards and commissions

A teacher and two businessmen in the tri-county area were recently appointed by Governor Steve Beshear to state boards and commissions.

Governor Beshear appointed Dr. Susan Kaye Edington of Madisonville to the Kentucky Board of Education. Edington is a teacher and program coordinator at Murray State University. She represents the 1st Supreme Court District, and replaces Jonathan Vince Parrent, who resigned. Dr. Edington will serve the remainder of Parrent’s unexpired term ending April 14, 2018.

Governor Beshear appointed Mark Stephen Schmidt of Owensboro to the State Plumbing Code Committee. Schmidt represents the Home Builders Association of Kentucky and will serve a term expiring May 1, 2017.

And Governor Beshear appointed Edward Cornelius Tong of Owensboro to the Kentucky Radon Program Advisory Committee. He represents the Home Builders Association of Kentucky and will serve a term expiring June 30, 2019.
