FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky Horse Park Run/Walk Club will be held every Monday night June 6 to September 26, from 5-8 p.m. The free event is open to people of all ages who would like to run or walk the scenic grounds. First time participants will receive a complimentary general admission pass to come back and visit the park’s daily attractions.
Runners and walkers have the chance to go by the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park fields on their outing. Participants have the option to go on the 2-mile route and add on an additional 1.5-mile loop, if they choose. This year the Kentucky Horse Park Run/Walk Club is introducing new activities including massages, stretching, yoga, and more. Those interested in bike riding are welcome to join the Bluegrass Cycling Club that leaves the park at 6 p.m. for rides through Lexington and Georgetown.
Participants check in at the Kentucky Horse Park Visitor Center where a variety of local craft beers, food trucks, information tables and horse meet-and-greets will be available. Among some of the food trucks present will be Red State BBQ, Sweet Lily’s, Sav’s Chill, Ellos Taco Cart, Sweet Tooth Fairy, the Snack Shack, and more. Special guests and entertainment will include John’s Run/Walk Shop, Butch Barnette, Kyle Marler, Kyle Nachtigal, Caleb Jones, Carly Jones, Tim Jenkins with the Kentucky 5K and more. The Kentucky Horse Park Run/Walk Club is family-friendly and leashed dogs are welcome.
