Suspicious vehicle in church parking lot leads to arrest of Henderson County man for possessing meth

Authorities say a suspicious vehicle in a church parking lot led to the arrest of a Henderson County man for possessing meth.

According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies went to check on the suspicious vehicle parked in the Zion Baptist Church parking lot around 7:30 Tuesday night. Upon further investigation, deputies found 41 year old Robert Shane Jenkins of Spottsville inside the vehicle with a syringe in his pocket containing a fluid which field tested positive for methamphetamine. In addition, deputies reportedly found digital scales in the vehicle.

Jenkins was taken into custody and lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center. Upon arrival at the jail, authorities say a plastic baggy containing more meth was found in a pocket sewn into the waistband of Jenkins’ jeans. He was charged for Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 2nd Offense (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Promoting Contraband 1st Degree.
