The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to conduct the annual structural inspection of the Shawneetown Bridge over the Ohio River on Monday, April 20.
The inspection is scheduled to last from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. During this time motorists should expect a single lane closure across the bridge, with alternating traffic flow controlled by flaggers.
This structure opened in 1956 and carries an average of 2,805 vehicles per day between Union County, Kentucky and Gallatin County, Illinois.
