At this hour, it’s still unknown how many people were transported to the hospital after a semi and three vehicle wreck on US 60 Monday evening that forced the closure of US 60 East for nearly two hours while emergency personnel worked the accident.
Here is what has been released to WMSK News at this hour….Morganfield Rescue Squad Chief Rick Wyatt tells me ten members of the rescue squad responded to the scene of a semi and three car accident on US 60 East in Waverly near Nally Trailer Sales around 6:20 p.m. Monday night. Chief Wyatt reports the Morganfield Rescue Squad had to use the Jaws of Life to free a female driver who was in pinned in her car, and provide medical care at the scene.
According to Chief Wyatt, the Union County, Waverly and Whispering Meadows Volunteer Fire Departments and two Union County ambulances also responded to the scene.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office worked the wreck and as of news time the details had not been released.
Emergency officials indicate the roadway reopened around 8:12 p.m.
