The City of Uniontown and Uniontown Police Department will host a Reception and Open House Tuesday for the retirement of Chief of Police Thomas “Buster” Byrd.
Chief Byrd tells WMSK News he joined the Uniontown Police Department nearly 30 years ago.
According to Chief Byrd, his replacement as Uniontown’s Chief of Police will be appointed by the Mayor of Uniontown.
Chief Byrd says he will miss everyone.
Following his retirement, Chief Byrd says he will probably return to training retrievers.
The Reception and Open House will be held Tuesday from 10am until 2pm at Uniontown City Hall. The public is invited to attend and show your appreciation for the retiring Chief and his service to the community.
