“Puttin on the Hits” Pantomime scheduled Saturday; Fundraiser for Union County’s Imagination Library program

About 40 local residents will be performing in the Union County Public Schools’ Puttin on the Hits Pantomime Saturday night in order to raise funds for Union County’s Imagination Library program.

Public Relations Coordinator Malinda Beauchamp tells WMSK News how they came up with the idea for Puttin on the Hits.

She says the show will feature a variety of lip-sync music entertainment.

The Puttin on the Hits performers are local folks whom have put in a lot of hard work and time practicing for the show.

The cast includes a good cross section of the community including: local bank presidents, insurance agents, school staff, law enforcement, school members, and school board members.

The show is a fundraising event for the Imagination Library program that Malinda says started about 12-years ago in Union County, the second county in the state to bring the program to communities.

In fact, she adds reading to infants and toddlers has been identified as the single most important activity that you can do to boost intelligence and success in life.

According to Malinda, there are 550 to 600 children enrolled in the Union County Imagination Library who receive books every month in the mail.

Malinda says this is a show you don’t want to miss.

Puttin on the Hits is at 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the Union County High School Auditorium. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the Board of Education Office on S. Mart Street in Morganfield, United Community Bank in Sturgis and at Uniontown City Hall. Tickets will also be available at the door.
