Preparations Underway for the 2016 Morganfield Lions Club Corn Festival

Preparations are underway in downtown Morganfield for the 43rd Annual Morganfield Lions Club Corn Festival as workers were busy unloading square bales of straw from a semi. Some carnival rides for children were also set up in wake of the big three-day festival.

Union County Tourism Director Paul Monsour says the first Corn Festival was organized by the Morganfield Jaycees.

The three day event will kick-off Thursday and will include food, pageants, entertainment and rides…something for the entire family to enjoy.

On Friday, Monsour says the festival will include…

And the highlight of the Corn Festival is Saturday…

Monsour also wants to thank all of the 2016 Corn Festival sponsors and community members.

This year’s theme for the Morganfield Lions Club Corn Festival is “Envisioning the Future from New Heights.”
