Possible Tornado Touch Down in Northern Christian County on Easter Sunday

Storm damage assessment crews with the National Weather Service will be in northern Christian County today to determine if a tornado touched down on Easter Sunday just before dusk.

After 7:00 Sunday evening, weather officials indicate a possible tornado touched down about 10 miles north of Hopkinsville on Kentucky 91 in the Cerulean/Bainbridge Grove area that destroyed a barn, ripped off a shop roof and damaged three homes, which were less than ½ mile from my home and my family’s farm.

In addition, the possible tornado may have touched down in a second area in Christian County on a secondary road Old Palestine Road, which connects KY 109 to Dawson Springs and US41A to Crofton, where there were reports of barns destroyed and damaged homes.

Storm damage experts are expected to assess the damage at both locations to determine if the damage was caused by a tornado touchdown, micro-burst or high winds.
