Police release identity of Friday morning shooting victim

Police have released the identity of the man found shot in the middle of a street in Owensboro Friday morning.

Owensboro Police tell WMSK News 25 year old David Biggs, of Owensboro, is listed in stable condition at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital from a single gunshot wound. Police indicate a female, identified as 20 year old Kiaren Goode, was also inside the residence with Biggs at the time of the shooting, but she was not injured.

Around 9:40 Friday morning, Owensboro Police received a call about an adult male sitting in the road in the 600 block of East 23rd Street. According to police, the investigation revealed Biggs was the victim of a shooting that occurred in the 500 block of East 24th Street just prior to him being found in the road by the caller.

Detectives and evidence collection officers are continuing the investigation to determine what led to the shooting and who is responsible. Police say initial reports have officers searching for two unidentified black males who reportedly left the scene in a blue Honda passenger car.
