Police: Owensboro man and female juvenile facing charges after firing gun at an occupied residence

On Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at approximately 11:00 p.m. the Owensboro Police Department responded to a firearm discharge call at 2126 Carpenter Drive.

Owensboro Police reports to WMSK News that officers on scene observed that at least two rounds had struck the residence; there were no injuries reported from the three adults inside. Within minutes, OPD says a vehicle was located and stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of Hermitage Drive that was believed to have been involved in this incident.

According to the report, the investigation revealed that the driver of that vehicle, 20 year old Khalil D. Hinton of Owensboro, acted jointly with a female juvenile as he drove to and from this scene. Police say the juvenile fired the weapon at the residence with the knowledge that it was occupied.

Hinton is currently lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center for three counts of first degree wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a minor.

Authorities report the female juvenile is lodged at the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center.
