Police officer injured in shooting at Shively home

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A police officer serving a warrant was wounded in a shooting with a suspect who was also shot at a home in the Shively area.

Shively Police officers were at a home on Eden Lane about 11 a.m. Friday when a male suspect there opened fire, striking the officer. Police returned fire, hitting and injuring the suspect.

Shively Police Chief Kevin Higdon says the officer, Wes Singleton, was shot four times in the “lower body, legs area.” He says Singleton is stable in the hospital and “seems to be good at this point.”

The suspect’s injuries were not known. Both were rushed to hospitals after the shooting.

Higdon says the officers at the house were serving a narcotics warrant.
