A Madisonville man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police say he severely beat his mother.
Madisonville Police report officers responded to an “open” 911 line call at a home on Hillcrest Drive in Madisonville around 1:12 and found 70 year old Diana Gail Duncan severely injured in her bedroom. She is believed to have been assaulted by her son, 47 year old Larry Shawn Duncan, according to authorities.
The 70 year old woman was transported by ambulance to Baptist Health in Madisonville and then airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville for treatment.
Duncan was arrested and charged with first degree assault (domestic violence) and lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
The case is still being investigating by Madisonville Police.
