Police: Henderson man arrested on warrant after pointing gun at woman

Authorities have arrested a Henderson man on a warrant after he allegedly pulled a gun on a woman last month.

23 year old Matthew Howard was taken into custody by Henderson Police around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 19-hundred block of Barret Court. Police say the warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred on August 30, 2016 when an officer responded to Kingsway Court regarding a man pointing a gun at a woman.

According to police, the woman stated she was sitting in a vehicle with her three children when a man told her to move the car. The victim told police she informed the man that she didn’t have a license nor did she know how to drive. The woman told officers the man, later identified as Howard, then pointed a gun in her face and threatened to shoot her if she did not move the car. Police report the female immediately moved the car and Howard left the scene.

Howard was lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center for first degree wanton endangerment, menacing, and operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license.
