Police Chief appointed to KLEC by Governor

NEWS RELEASE

The Owensboro Police Department is proud to announce the recent appointment of Chief Art Ealum to the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.

The Kentucky Law Enforcement Council is comprised of 23 members, 12 of whom are appointed by the Governor. The council’s main duties are to govern the training curriculum used for law enforcement training in Kentucky as well as oversee the abilities of those tasked as instructors.

Chief Ealum has 25 years of law enforcement experience with OPD; with the last four years as the departments Chief. This tenure will afford him the unique opportunity to bring his vision of community oriented policing and community outreach to the training environment. His appointment will expire July 1, 2020.
