Pennyrile Electric Makes Contribution to KSP Trooper Island

KSP POST 2 NEWS RELEASE

Hopkinsville, KY – Pennyrile Electric Vice President of Member Services & Communications, Brent Gilkey, presented a $500 check for Trooper Island to Trooper Stu Recke, Public Affairs Officer for Post 2 Madisonville. Pennyrile Electric is an electric cooperative that provides electric service to more than 47,000 members in parts of nine counties in Western Kentucky.

Established in 1965 by the Kentucky State Police, Trooper Island is a free summer camp for underprivileged boys and girls age 10-12 located on Dale Hollow Lake in Clinton County. It is financed entirely by donations; no public funds are used.

Each year, the camp hosts approximately 700 children, providing recreation, fresh air, nutritional meals, guidance and structured, esteem-building activities designed to build good citizenship and foster positive relationships with law enforcement officers.
