Opioid Abatement Grant Applications Now Open

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 19, 2026) – The Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission is accepting grant applications.

Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman encourages Kentucky organizations working in prevention, treatment and recovery to apply to partner with the Commission in this lifesaving work.

The Commission is accepting applications in the following areas:

  • Prevention
  • Treatment/Recovery

Interested organizations can find more information and the grant applications on the Commission’s website.

“We have been at the epicenter of the drug crisis for years,” said Attorney General Coleman. “Through the work of the Commission to invest in life changing programs across our Commonwealth, Kentucky is now at the heart of the recovery. I encourage any organization from the Purchase to the Mountains to apply.”

“The work of the Opioid Abatement Commission continues to change the trajectory of our Commonwealth,” said Commission Director Chris Evans. “We’re looking for leaders and organizations who will come alongside us to continue to bring hope to those in need.”

In 2026, the Commission awarded nearly $34 million to more than 100 organizations committed to stomping out the drug epidemic. Since its creation by the General Assembly in 2021, the Commission has invested more than $100 million in Kentucky communities.

Applications for the 2027 grants will close at 6PM ET on Thursday, December 17.
