Norma Jean Haney, 93 of Sturgis passed away on January 18, 2019 at Morganfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Morganfield. Norma was born in Sturgis, KY, on April 9, 1925 to Hallie & Leslie Holt. She graduated from Sturgis High School and married her high school sweetheart Leslie “Meryl” Haney. As a military wife she lived in places like Japan, Germany, California, Colorado and Hawaii. Norma is a life-long member of the Sturgis Baptist Church of which she is the last living charter member. She loved her church and spending time with her family. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Major Leslie Haney; her parents Hallie & Leslie Holt; brothers Jimmy and wife Kate Holt, Leslie E. “Sonny” & wife Polly Holt.

Funeral services for Norma will be 11 AM on Tuesday at the Sturgis Baptist Church, 620 N. Adams Street, Sturgis, KY. Rev. Matthew Thrower will officiate. Visitation will be 10 AM at Sturgis Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis, KY.
