Motorists traveling KY 603/Pleasant Valley Road at the US 60 Exit 19 Interchange eastbound ramp in Owensboro need to be aware the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to activate a new stoplight at this intersection.
Beginning at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, spokesman Keith Todd says the new traffic signal will be placed into yellow flashing mode and will stay that way through the weekend to allow motorists to become aware of the signal location and prepare for changes in traffic flow that the new signal will create at this intersection.
Todd indicates signs and message boards have placed around the intersection to alert the public to the activation date.
The new signal at the intersection of the US 60 Exit 19 eastbound exit ramp and KY 603/Pleasant Valley Road is expected to go into full green-yellow-red operation around 9:00 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016.
According to Todd, an electrical crew is expected to be on-site during day today (Wednesday) to make final checks on the signal and controller.
Once the new signal is activated, officials say the contractor will ramp up construction of a new signal on the north side of this interchange at eh intersection of KY 603/Pleasant Valley Road Connector and Pleasant Valley Road.
