Local police say a call regarding a possible drunk driver led to the arrest of a Morganfield man for DUI, assault of a police officer, drug possession and several other charges.
Morganfield Police Sergeant Geoffrey Deibler tells WMSK News Officer Chance Whitfield received the possible DUI call around 8:05 Thursday night, and the man, later identified as 27 year old Michael Linkswiler, was seen at a local convenience store.
He says Officer Whitfield got Linkswiler out of the vehicle to conduct a field sobriety test and then he arrested for DUI.
Linkswiler was transported to Methodist Hospital Union County for a blood test, but Sgt. Deibler says he refused.
The 27 year old Morganfield man was then transported to the Union County Jail for aforesaid charges, his 2nd DUI, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and other offenses.
