Morganfield Police Chief Suspended for 2 Weeks

Morganfield Police Chief Craig Bolds has been suspended for two weeks without pay pending the conclusion of an investigation.

As you heard reported first by WMSK News, Morganfield Mayor Dickie Berry stated Thursday morning that Police Chief Craig Bolds had not been terminated. At that time, he did not want to comment further.

This (Friday) afternoon, WMSK News obtained from Mayor Berry’s office a copy of the suspension letter given to Chief Bolds. The letter (copied and pasted below) states as follows:

Dear Mr. Bolds

This letter is to confirm that you have been suspended without pay, with benefits, from July 7, 2016 to July 21,2016.

This action is being taken due evidence provided the City Council and Mayor with evidence of your engagement in activities and conduct that adversely has effected your judgement in preforming your job duties. Investigation of additional job performance out comes and related activities are being conducted to support or discount the need for further action.

Upon completion of further investigation with no other findings, you are expected to return to work on July 22, 2016 at 8:00 AM. Failure to show immediate and sustained improvement in behavior and/or performance may result in further disciplinary action up to and including termination.
