Man flown to hospital after dog attack in Graves County

Around 10:55 a.m. Saturday Kentucky State Police, Post 1 reported today they received a call regarding report a male who had been attacked by 2 dogs on Dove Road in the Farmington Community of Graves County.

According to police, a trooper responded to the scene and found 22 year old Mitchell Slayden, of Farmington, with multiple lacerations to his face, head, arms and legs.

KSP says a preliminary investigation revealed that Slayden was riding a bicycle when he pulled into the driveway of a residence on Dove Road belonging to 27 year old Chris Bouland, of Farmington. Slayden was reportedly looking for a subject that he believed lived at that residence, however that individual no longer lived there. When he entered the driveway, authorities say Slayden was confronted by two pit bulls that attacked him as he tried to leave.

KSP reports Slayden was airlifted to Tri-Star Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN with life threatening injuries. The two dogs were taken into custody by the Graves County Animal Control where they will be quarantined and monitored for at least 10 days.

The investigation is on going by KSP.

KSP was assisted on scene by the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, The Graves County Animal Control, Mayfield-Graves County EMS, and Air Evac.
