A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Powell Street on Wednesday.
Harold “JC” Farmer, 20, has been charged with murder in the death of James Culver, 73.
Henderson Police Department said officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Powell Street at about midday Wednesday for a disturbance in progress involving five individuals. A man – later identified as Culver – was located with injuries.
Despite immediate life-saving efforts by responding officers and EMTs, Culver was pronounced deceased. An HPD official said he had been shot in the chest.
The other four family members present in the home were unharmed and were transported to the Henderson Police Department to be interviewed separately to determine exactly what led to the shooting.
Farmer was charged with murder on Wednesday, the same day of the shooting. He is lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center. No bond has been set.
