League Day at the Kentucky Capitol to focus on “Let us Vote”.

FRANKFORT, KY — The League of Women Voters of Kentucky will host its annual League Day at the Kentucky Capitol Annex from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

This event allows League members and supporters to engage with legislators, learn about key bills in progress, and advocate for democracy through voting rights and open primaries, according to a news release.

A statistical update on Voting Rights Restoration will be released at the event and provides the theme for the day, “Let Us Vote.”

In addition, Neil Volz, Deputy Director of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, will speak to the gathering at 1 p.m. and will be available to the press at 2:15 p.m. in room 129 of the Capitol Annex. His leadership in Florida was critical in passage of Amendment 4 in 2018 that restored voting rights to 1.4 million people.

Attendees will attend legislative committee meetings and meet directly with legislators in their Capitol Annex offices. A lunchtime speaker, Sarah Jane Higginbotham, an electoral reform advocate, will speak on the topic of Open Primaries.
