HENDERSON, Ky. — A charitable organization will receive a grant of at least $1,000 at Kyndle’s 2017 Regional Nonprofit of the Year Awards Breakfast this Thursday.
The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the Preston Arts Center on the Henderson Community College campus. It is sponsored by the Community Foundation of Henderson.
Nominations were open to nonprofit organizations in Henderson, McLean, Union and Webster counties. The Nonprofit of the Year grant is sponsored by the Community Foundation of Henderson, Independence Bank and United Community Bank.
In addition, a Volunteer of the Year will be announced for three counties: Henderson, Union and Webster.
The keynote speaker will be Lynn Miller Pease, who has 18 years of experience in facilitation, leadership training and development, and has served as executive director of Leadership Evansville since 2003.
The cost of the breakfast is $13 for Kyndle stakeholders and $18 for non-members. Reservations can be made by contacting Kyndle at 270-826-7505 or info@kyndle.us. The deadline for reservations is noon Wednesday.
“While people might think of Kyndle, as the chamber of commerce for Henderson, being focused strictly on business. But we think it’s important to support and help nonprofit organizations as well because of what they contribute to our quality of life,” Kyndle CEO Tony Iriti said.
This marks the third year that Kyndle has hosted the Regional Nonprofit of the Year Awards Breakfast.
Additionally, Kyndle will once again present the Nonprofit Leadership Seminar, which will take place on Sept. 8 in Henderson. The seminar is designed to help staff, directors and volunteers make their nonprofit organizations more successful and sustainable.
Kyndle is the chamber of commerce for Henderson and the lead regional economic development organization for Henderson, McLean, Union and Webster counties.
