MADISONVILLE, Ky. (December 16, 2025) – The Kentucky 120 bridge over Bull Creek in Webster County has reopened.
The bridge has been closed for repairs since Nov. 17. It is located east of Providence in the area locally known as the “S-Curve.”
A routine annual safety inspection last month revealed deterioration in several wooden pilings within the bridge’s substructure. With these findings, engineers determined that repairs to the bridge needed to begin as soon as possible.
It was necessary for the bridge to be closed while this work was being conducted. These repairs were crucial to ensure the bridge’s long-term safety and maintain its serviceability.
The damaged pilings were reinforced with wrap cable and rebar, then encased in concrete.
Originally estimated to take 1-2 months to complete, the project was completed one day short of a full month, according to a news release.
