KSP Works Injury Collision in Calloway County

NEWS RELEASE

(Murray, KY) – Trooper Jody Cash was responding to an emergency call on November 3, 2015 at approximately 1:46 P.M. when he was involved in a collision with another motor vehicle.

Preliminary investigation shows Debra B. Fannin, 54 of Murray, KY was traveling north on KY 121 driving a 2010 Ford Fusion. Trooper Cash was traveling north on KY 121 with his emergency equipment activated and was passing motorists. Fannin attempted to make a left turn onto KY 783, which resulted in striking Trooper Cash as he was passing her vehicle.

Trooper Cash was transported by EMS and Fannin was transported by a private vehicle to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, sustained during the collision. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted on the scene by the Calloway County Fire-Rescue Department, Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, Murray Police Department, Murray-Calloway County EMS and Murray Public Works. KSP Advanced Collision Reconstructionist SGT Joey Adams is continuing the collision investigation.
