KSP: Traffic stop lands Muhlenberg Co. man in jail charged for possessing meth and pot

KSP POST 2 NEWS RELEASE

White Plains, KY (Hopkins County) – On January 8, 2016, a traffic stop was initiated by Troopers Cody Kromer and Robert Austin on a 1989 Toyota pickup truck for driving and equipment violations on E. Church Street in the city limits of White Plains, operated by 51 year old Bobby V. Johnson of Lewisburg.

During the investigation, KSP says controlled substances, items used to ingest and distribute controlled substances and a large sum of cash was seized from Johnson, who was the only occupant of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle produced methamphetamine, digital scales, pipes, marijuana, and prescription medication, according to state police.

Johnson was lodged at the Hopkins County Detention Center on the following charges:
1) License Plate not Legible
2) Reckless Driving
3) Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 2nd Offense Greater Than Two Grams of Methamphetamine
4) Possession of Marijuana
5) Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense Drug Unspecified
6) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
