Authorities have released the autopsy results conducted on the body of an 18 year old female found dead inside a house fire in Livingston County.
According to Kentucky State Police Post 1 in Mayfield, the autopsy conducted at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville revealed the cause of Melissa C. Hopkins death was smoke inhalation.
State Police were called to the house fire at 730 Holland Road in Livingston County around 8:30 Monday night after the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office discovered Hopkins’ body inside the residence. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston County Coroner.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the fatal structure fire.
