KSP: Morganfield man and Evansville woman charged for drug possession

A traffic stop in Union County early Saturday morning netted the arrests of a Morganfield man and an Evansville woman for possessing drugs.

Kentucky State Police Post 16 in Henderson reports a trooper conducted the traffic stop around 2:15 Saturday morning on US 60 about 3 miles west of Morganfield on a vehicle driven by 34 year old Derek Clark of Morganfield. During an investigation, police determined Clark was driving under the influence of drugs and was driving on a suspended operator’s license. Police determined Clark’s passenger, 28 year old Margaret Madden of Evansville, had an outstanding warrant out of Warrick County, Indiana. Upon further investigation, police indicate 4 grams of methamphetamine was found.

Clark and Madden were taken into custody and lodged in the Union County Detention Center for their second offense of possessing meth and for possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, Clark was charged for his second DUI, Careless Driving, Failure to Produce an Insurance Card and Operating on a Suspended License.
