KSP Makes Drug Arrest in Lyon County

KSP NEWS RELEASE

(Kuttawa, KY) – The Kentucky State Police stopped a 2009 Toyota Rav 4 traveling east on Interstate 24, Thursday, February 25, 2016 at approximately 2:45 P.M. for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop Trooper First Class TJ Williams observed several indicators of criminal activity. Trooper First Class Brad Ramsey and his K9 Partner Oscar arrived on scene and alerted on the vehicle. Troopers located just 5.5 pounds of marijuana. The street value of the marijuana is approximately $10,000.

The driver of the vehicle, Randy D. Hargis, 41, of Southern Shores, NC was arrested and charged with; Failure to or Improper Signal (Violation), Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor), Trafficking in Marijuana Greater than 5 Pounds (Class C Felony). Hargis was lodged in the Caldwell County Detention Facility.
