(Eddyville, KY.) –Kentucky State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Lyon County that injured a Caldwell County woman.
Kentucky State Police Post 1 reported Thursday that they received a call from the Caldwell County Dispatch around 9:35 Tuesday morning requesting KSP to investigate an alleged shooting of a Caldwell County woman that had occurred in Lyon County. According to state police, 33 year old Tera M. Brown, of Princeton, had been at an address on Leroy Road in Lyon County looking for her adult daughter when she was shot in the leg. Police say she then drove herself to the Caldwell County Hospital Emergency Room where she was treated and admitted to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
KSP says a preliminary investigation revealed that the shooter was 29 year old Charles M. Breedlove, of Lyon County. A trooper located Breedlove at his residence and he was arrested without incident. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail for second degree assault, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and tampering with physical evidence.
KSP was assisted by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and the Princeton Police Department.
The shooting is still under investigation by KSP.
