(Pikeville, KY)- The Kentucky State Police, Pikeville Post, is investigating a fatal ATV collision that occurred in the evening hours of Monday, November 09, 2015.
The initial investigation indicates Michael Lawson, 47 of Pikeville, KY, was operating an ATV on Zebulon Highway in Zebulon community of Pike County. While traveling on Zebulon Highway, Lawson’s ATV left the roadway and overturned. Lawson was transported from the scene to Pikeville Medical Center, where he was treated for injuries sustained in the collision. On November 12, 2015, Lawson succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced deceased at PMC by Dr. William Peery. Lawson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Trooper Chase Maynard.
