Kentucky State Police Investigates Injury Collision in Union County

A Sturgis man was airlifted for treatment following a one-vehicle crash that occurred near Pride in Union County on Thursday.

Kentucky State Police 16-Henderson received a call from Union County Dispatch at around 7:20 a.m. Thursday regarding a one-vehicle wreck on Kentucky 141 near Pride in Union County.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Mathew Jones was traveling northbound on Kentucky 141 in a Peterbilt service truck. The investigation determined that Jones ran off the side of the road, where he lost control, crossing both lanes and striking an earth embankment on the southbound side.

Jones was airlifted to Deaconess Midtown in Evansville for his injuries. He is in stable condition, but his injuries are unknown as of Thursday afternoon.

Kentucky 141 was shut down for two hours as troopers investigated the collision.

The investigation is on-going by the Kentucky State Police.

Kentucky State Police, Union County Sheriff’s Office, Sturgis, Whispering Meadows, Morganfield and Sullivan Fire Departments, Union County EMS, Union County EMA and Deaconess Emergency Services assisted troopers at the scene.
