Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Collision

HENDERSON (HENDERSON COUNTY), Ky. (December 10, 2020) – Kentucky State Police Post 16 – Henderson received a call from Henderson County Dispatch of a three-vehicle fatal collision on Thursday, December 10, 2020 around 6:15 PM. The collision was in the 2600 block of US 60 West near Henderson Community College.

Preliminary investigation reveals 23-year-old Christian T. Flint of Morganfield was traveling west on US 60 when he ran off the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a guardrail. Troopers believe his 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt redirected back onto the roadway where he struck a 2008 Mazda driven by 52-year-old Chiemi Cheatham of Morganfield. Flint’s vehicle then struck a 2004 Volvo driven by 19-year-old John Abbott of Henderson.

Flint succumbed to his injuries while in-transit to the hospital. Troopers believe he was not utilizing his seatbelt. Cheatham was not injured and Abbott was transported to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for non-life-threatening injuries. His conditional is unknown at this time.

US 60 was closed for four hours as KSP reconstructed the collision.

Henderson County Coroner’s Office, Henderson County Sheriff’s Department and other agencies assisted troopers at the scene.

The investigation is on-going.
