Kentucky is Vested in Work Zone Safety

National Work Zone Awareness Week is April 15-19, 2024. Every year, Departments of Transportation nationwide participate in daily events to promote safer work zones. Whether behind a barrel or the wheel, we all have a vested interest to keep work zones safe.

In 2023, Kentucky had 1,251 crashes, 247 resulting injuries, and 17 fatalities.

Did you know motorists and their passengers are the primary victims of work zone related crashes, injuries and deaths?

14 of the 17 fatalities in 2023 were motorists/passengers.

Help encourage safer work zones by practicing safe driving habits and spreading the word during National Work Zone Awareness Week.
