Kentuckians urged to donate to nonprofits serving them, their communities during today’s 24-hour online giving event

(LEXINGTON, Ky.) – Nonprofit organizations from throughout the commonwealth are participating today in the tenth anniversary Kentucky Gives Day statewide online fundraising event. The 24-hour online giving campaign provides 263 participating charities the opportunity to raise as much money as possible today from midnight (EDT) through 11:59 p.m. – all through a single website: www.kygives.org.

Here’s how Kentuckians can participate:

  •  Visit www.kygives.org to search for your favorite charities or choose the causes you care about.
  • Donate what you can.  The minimum donation is $5 and every dollar matters!
  • Tell your friends on social media and via email to join you.  Use the #KYGives22 hashtag.
  • Follow along and share throughout the day on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/KyGives/) and Twitter (@kygives).

“The pandemic has changed so much, but it can’t change Kentucky’s giving spirit,” said Danielle Clore, CEO of Kentucky Nonprofit Network, the state association of charities and host of the event. “Kentuckians are asked to rally with us for a powerful day of action to support the causes that help keep our communities thriving and recovering. Nonprofits need support now and every amount helps,” added Clore.

Kentucky Gives Day is sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Kentucky and the LG&E and KU Foundation. The Central Kentucky Community Foundation in Elizabethtown is a regional partner. Media partners include WKQQ, WHAS, WLAP, WBUL, and Kentucky News Network.
