HPD: Separate Arrests Led to Two Individuals Charged for Possession Meth

According to Henderson Police, 32 year old Stephanie M. Yates of Henderson was arrested on a Bench Warrant around 4:00 p.m. Friday at an apartment on South Green Street. Before placing Yates in the cruiser, the officer asked Yates if she had any items on her and she advised police she had salt in her bra. Police say Yates removed the baggie which contained a white crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Yates was lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center on the Bench Warrant and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth).

Then on Saturday around 5:45 p.m. Henderson Police report officers stopped a vehicle driven by 33 year old Richard Evans of Evansville, IN in the 28-hundred block of US41N after they received several calls of the vehicle swerving all over the road. During the investigation, police say officers determined Evans was driving on a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol. In addition, officers reportedly found meth, marijuana, scales, several small baggies and several glass pipes believed to be used to smoke meth.

Evans was arrested and lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center for multiple charges including possession of marijuana, trafficking in a controlled substance – methamphetamine, illegal possession of a legend drug, prescription controlled substance not in proper container, and DUI.
