A 57 year old Henderson man has been charged for assaulting a police officer.
According to Henderson Police, officers responded to Villagebrook Drive around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon in reference to an intoxicated male trying to assault his son. During the investigation, police say Keith Freeland was arrested for misdemeanor offenses, and when he was taken into custody he punched an officer in the face.
Authorities report Freeland was transported to Methodist Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
He was charged with third degree assault and lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center.
