HPD arrest man on two counts of attempted murder

A local man is accused of trying to murder two people following an argument over a fishing pole.

Henderson Police Department arrested Nathan Spainhoward, 41, on Monday following an investigation into a domestic violence incident.

Police determined through an investigation that the incident allegedly began as a dispute over who owned a fishing pole.

During the altercation, Spainhoward allegedly used his pickup truck in a way that endangered multiple people. One adult was struck by the vehicle and subsequently assaulted. A juvenile was also struck by the vehicle.

Spainhoward was charged with two counts of attempted murder, first-degree assault and unlawful transaction with a minor.

Spainhoward was lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center. No bond has been set. He is due to appear in court on Thursday.

All charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
