Henderson woman arrested for shoplifting and drug offenses

A Henderson woman has been arrested for shoplifting and drug charges.

According to Henderson Police, an officer was working a case at Wal-mart around 7:05 p.m. Monday when management stated they had a shoplifter in custody. Police report 37 year old Jennifer E. Riggs was wearing several pieces of jewelry which she had not purchased. Authorities say Riggs stated she could prove that she didn’t steal the items; however, police say more stolen items were found inside her purse, along with an empty makeup container holding various pills.

Riggs was taken into custody and charged for Shoplifting under $500, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (drug unspecified), Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (drug unspecified), and Prescription Controlled Substance not in Proper Container 1st Degree.
