Henderson Police Department confirm two people dead following shooting on Letcher Street in Henderson

Henderson Police Department have confirmed two people are dead following what authorities said appeared to be a murder-suicide.

Henderson Police Department Public Information Officer Lt. Stuart O’Nan said that police responded to the 800 block of Letcher Street at 12:37 p.m. Wednesday in reference to two people being shot in front of a residence.

Officers found two victims lying on the front porch with gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene and one person was immediately pronounced dead.

Police said the other person was transported to a medical facility, where they were pronounced dead shortly after.

As of Wednesday afternoon, police said its investigation has concluded that the shooting incident was a murder/suicide. Police said there is no current danger to the subject.

Henderson Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services also responded at the scene.

The Henderson County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victims’ names as they were still in the process of contacting family members as of Wednesday afternoon.
