Henderson man charged with domestic assault, assault of two police officers

A Henderson man was arrested on multiple charges Thursday, including domestic assault and two counts of assault on a police officer.

Henderson Police report officers responded to the 28-hundred block of Brown Drive around 11:35 p.m. Thursday regarding a possible assault. Upon arrival, officers say they observed 30 year old Ty Mattingly, of Henderson, push his girlfriend causing her to fall to the floor. Authorities say Mattingly was taken into custody for alcohol intoxication in a public place and fourth degree domestic violence assault.

Due to Mattingly’s high intoxication level, police say they transported him to Methodist Hospital for medical clearance where he threatened officers and medical staff. Mattingly reportedly spit in an officer’s face and ripped his I.V. out with his teeth, causing him to bleed. During treatment, they say Mattingly got blood on an officer’s face and in his eyes. Both officers were treated for biological contact.

After medical treatment, Mattingly was released from the hospital and lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center for the A.I. and fourth degree domestic violence assault charges previously mentioned, in addition to charges of third degree terroristic threatening, second degree disorderly conduct, and two counts of third degree assault on police officer.
