...Heavy precipitation amounts expected Tuesday night through Thursday... A large scale weather system is expected to impact parts of the Quad State Tuesday night through Thursday. Locally heavy rain is possible during Tuesday night into Wednesday. Minor water problems could develop given the relatively high soil moisture across the area. There may be a bit of a lull late Wednesday into Wednesday evening, followed by another surge of precipitation overnight Wednesday into Thursday. This round may result in not only more rainfall, it will likely produce mixed wintry precipitation as well. The event overall will likely total 1 to 2 inches of liquid equivalent precipitation with locally higher amounts expected in some areas. Most areas will likely be closer to the 2 inch amount. Any excess runoff of rain could lead to some flooding of low-lying and flood-prone areas Wednesday and Thursday. Stay tuned to later forecasts and statements regarding this evolving weather system this week.
