A Hopkins County man has been arrested for allegedly selling stolen jewelry in exchange for money.
According to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, 35 year old Derek Gatten, of Madisonville, was charged Thursday following an investigation into a burglary at a residence on Bean Cemetery Road. Police say Gatten sold jewelry and scrap gold to Park Avenue Jewelry and Loans on March 8, 2016, which was reported stolen the same day.
Gatten was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center for third degree burglary, receiving stolen property over $500 but under $10,000 and other offenses.
