HCSO: Henderson man charged for possessing meth and other offenses

A traffic stop for speeding landed a Henderson man in jail after authorities say illegal drugs were found in his vehicle.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop around 10:30 Thursday night on a car for speeding driven by 22 year old Steven Fields Jr. Upon contact with the vehicle, the deputy said he smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, and during a search of Fields he found a plastic bag containing methamphetamine. The report says the deputy determined Field was under the influence and he was arrested.

According to the sheriff’s office, additional meth and drug paraphernalia were found during a search of the vehicle.
Fields was booked into the Henderson County Detention Center charged with speeding 20 mph over the limit in a restricted zone, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, first degree possession of a controlled substance (meth) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
