A Hanson man was airlifted to an Evansville hospital Tuesday afternoon after a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of US 41 and KY 138, just inside Hopkins County.

Kentucky State Police say a preliminary investigation revealed that 50 year old David Douglas Jr., of Wickliffe, was driving a tractor-trailer log truck with an empty trailer southbound on US 41 around 2:00 Tuesday afternoon when he turned left onto KY 138 East and pulled in the path of a motorcycle driven by 38 year old David Lohse, of Hanson.

Douglas, who state police indicate was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured. KSP indicates Lohse, who appeared to be wearing a helmet, was flown from the scene to St Mary’s Hospital in Evansville for treatment.

KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, the Webster County Sheriff’s Department, Webster County EMS, Sebree Volunteer Fire & Rescue assisted KSP at the scene.
