GRDHD Reports 585 New Confirmed COVID-19 Infections & 4 COVID-19 Related Deaths

Three Green River District Counites are Areas of Critical Transmission

On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, the Green River District Health Department (GRDHD) reported 585 new confirmed COVID-19 cases with 309 in Daviess County, 24 in Hancock County, 93 in Henderson County, 32 in McLean County, 87 in Ohio County, 31 in Union County, and 9 in Webster County. The COVID-19 related deaths were a resident of Daviess County, a resident of Henderson County, a resident of Ohio County, and a resident of Union County. The state mortality review team has determined that an additional 21 deaths were determined to be caused by COVID-19 and the totals by county have been updated to include those cases. All were from January 2021 or earlier. Our current 7-day average for new cases in the 7-county district is now 83.4 new cases a day. The newly reported cases were investigated between November 23rd and November 29th .

 There have been 38,936 reported COVID-19 cases in the district to date.

 There have been 637 COVID-19 related deaths in the district.

 The state of Kentucky is currently reporting 783,409 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 10,913 statewide deaths.

“We are again seeing rising incidence rates of COVID-19” said Clay Horton, GRDHD Public Health Director. “The best way to protect yourself and those you love is to get vaccinated against COVID19. COVID-19 vaccines are safe and highly effective. Wearing a mask when in public or around people you don’t live with is an effective way to reduce spread. If you are not yet vaccinated, go get vaccinated today. If you must be in indoor public spaces, wear a mask.”

GRDHD COVID-19 Vaccine & Testing Availability

All persons aged 5 or older are eligible for Pfizer and all persons aged 18 and older are eligible for Moderna and Johnson & Johnson. COVID-19 vaccine booster shots are now available. CDC recommends that anyone with any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 get tested, regardless of vaccination status or prior infection. If you get tested because you have symptoms or were potentially exposed to the virus, you should stay away from others pending test results and follow the advice of your healthcare provider or a public health professional. Green River District Health Department is offering free COVID-19 testing.
